Sharon Stone's Comments on Earthquake in China
Asked about the recent earthquake in China, Hollywood star Sharon Stone observed that the disaster was probably due to bad karma on the part of the Chinese -they were not nice to Dalai Lama and the Tibetans.
The earthquake, which took place on May 12, killed over 67,000 people, with more than 20,000 still missing. It also left millions of local residents homeless.
Stone, who claimed Dalai Lama as “a good friend,” said that “it is interesting” that such a disaster would happen soon after the recent political unrests in Tibet. The moral: "... no one should be unkind to anyone else.”
The area devastated by the earthquake is in the western part of Sichuan Province, which borders the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China. The area is home to both Han Chinese and minority groups such as the Tibetans and the Qiang.
