An Interesting Stone-Stele in Central China

This is a stone stele found in the Yangzi River valley in central China. The main inscription on the tablet reads: "Don't start a lawsuit lightly even if you are angry. Don't be a thief even if you are hungry and cold. Of tens of thousands of evils, immoral sexual liaisons are the worst. Of hundreds of virtues, nothing is more important than filial piety." And also, "If you respect and cherish paper and written words, your eyes will always be bright; your riches and noble status will endure and you will have a great number of descendants."
