China National Grand Opera House
China's National Center for the Performing Arts is located in the central Beijing, a short walking distance from Tiananmen Square and the Forbbiden City. Designed by French architect Paul Andreu, the grand building opened its door at the end of 2007. Because of its shape, the theater is often referred to as the Egg. Occupying over 10,000 square meters, the buidling contains three theaters that together can sea over 5,500 viewers.
