26 Million Visited China in 2013

According to the statistics released by China's National Tourism Administration, in 2013 a total of 26 million travelers visited Mainland China. The number includes visitors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

About 10 million of the visitors from outside Mainland China came for sightseeing and leisure, and approximately 6 million traveled to China for business. The great bulk of the foreign vistors, 16 million of them, came from Asian countries and regions. Over 5 million traveled from Europe and about 3 million originated from the Americas.

Age-wise, 12 million visitors are between the ages of 25 and 44; about 10 million are in the age group of 45-64; young visitors in the age group of 15-24 numbered 2 million.

In the first six months of 2014, over 12 million foreign guests visited Mainland China.
