Gold Conference in Beijing
An international conference on gold was held in Beijing from September 10 to 12. Billed as the world's top conference and expo on gold and other precious metals, China Gold Congress 2014 brought "gold-diggers" from around the world to Beijing. The meeting covers threes areas of interest - gold minging, investment in gold, and gold products for consumers. According to organizers, over 1,800 guests attended the conference.
As China's economy continues to expand and the Chinese grow more affluent, interest in gold has been on the rise in China. Concerns over inflation has also bring many Chinese to gold as a way to preserve their newly acquired wealth. The Chinese government has also worried about monitary policy of the U.S. and has endeavored to expand the role of the Chinese currency, the Yuan, in international trade and the global economy generally.
